Inclined Platform Lift
An inclined platform lift carries a passenger with wheelchair up and down a single flight of straight stairs by traveling along a rail system mounted alongside the stairs. These lifts can be installed in a home or commercial space wherever an elevator is not practical.
The motor is housed on board the unit with no need for a machine room. The folding platform, available in ADA-compliant size, allows easy access to stairs when the lift is not being used. Call or fill out the form below to connect with our inclined platform wheelchair lift specialist today!
Inclined Platform Lift Overview
Similar to stairlifts, inclined platform lifts run along the incline of an existing staircase. However, they have the added bonus of a platform with can accommodate most lightweight mobility devices, removing the need for difficult transfers. Inclined platform lifts are available with standard straight rails up to 18 feet in length.
Barrier free access does not have to involve major construction when you choose an Inclined Platform Lift. Also known as a wheelchair stair lift, this piece of durable medical equipment can take both you and your chair up virtually any set of stairs.
Inclined Platform Lifts are available with different sized platforms, up to 3 foot by 5 foot, including ADA-compliant sizes, to suit your mobility device. you can also have the option of a straight thru design or a 90 degree turn option if only 5 feet is available at the bottom of the stairs. When not in use the platform can be easily folded against the wall to all easy access to the stairs.
You do need a staircase with at least 35 inches in width, and a level area at the bottom of the stairs of at least 4 feet long and 4 feet wide.
