Custom wheelchair ramps make it easier for our clients to access their home. Here we have built a custom ramp so that the client can access their home with ease.
Getting in and out of your home should be easy. For one family in Utah, a wheelchair ramp in their garage was the solution. A virtually maintenance-free metal ramp was installed within a very short time period. Our team worked quickly to help the homeowner understand their different ramp options and have the ramp installed before the customer’s deadline. We even helped them understand why choosing an exterior ramp was less than ideal for their loved one.
After an ATV accident two years ago, our client lost his right leg. Not being the type of guy to slow down, he asked neighbors to build him a ramp in the garage before he left the rehabilitation facility. The wheelchair ramp they built worked well for a while but a near tumble in his wheelchair off the side of the homemade ramp lead him to call the Dallas Accessible Systems team to see what the options were for a more formal solution. A quick rearrange of the garage and a modular metal ramp later, this Arlington, Texas client is ready to get back to doing the things he loves. As an added bonus, his teenage grandsons think his wheelchair ramp is a pretty cool tool to use to practice their skateboarding tricks.
This wheelchair ramp system in Fort Collins, CO was able to be installed in 4 hours after only 5 days from the initial order. Because it is installed over the existing stamped concrete, nothing is damaged and this ramp could be removed, reconfigured, or reused at anytime.
This modular ramp was a rental and was installed in 5 hours and overcomes 6 steps from the front door down to the driveway. Because the level platforms are used to turn as you go up and down, this ramp is safer than a long straight ramp. Each platform is a good resting point and the handrails are continuous from begininng to end of the ramp. This was much more affordable as a rental than as a purchase.
This custom wood wheelchair ramp is built to ADA specifications with 36 inches between handrail and a gentle slope. It makes a zero threshold entry over the existing 4 stone steps at this nice farmhouse. This was installed by our team and inspected by the county inspectors to receive an approved building permit. We finished the ramp with a steel plate so that there is a smooth entry and exit down to the sidewalk. This project was covered by the Medicaid program in Weld County.
